Life-saving fuel. That’s what Chebet Lesan calls the recycled fuel bricks her company, BrightGreen Renewable Energy, manufactures from agricultural waste. Sold widely across Kenya, these fuel bricks replace charcoal and firewood. They provide a simple, effective, and affordable heat source both for domestic and industrial use.
The fuels are easily adaptable and reduce life-threatening household air pollution caused by firewood smoke. They are also instrumental in reducing deforestation and promoting sustainability. Whereas firewood is harvested from forests, BrightGreen fuels are manufactured from biomass waste and plant fibers sourced from farmers and industries across Kenya.
