Mom-and-pop shops in Morocco and Tunisia are expanding after adopting the B2B e-commerce app Chari. Developed by a former strategy consultant with a Master’s degree from Cornell, Ismael Belkhayat, Chari enables shop owners to discard cash transactions and seamlessly manage their stock. The app, designed for French-speaking African countries, guarantees secure delivery within 24 hours. Truck delivery owners use Chari to collect orders and earn incentives if they deliver on time. Chari’s acquisition of the Ivorian app, Daigo, connects neighbourhood shops with the fast-moving consumer goods market. In Morocco alone, an estimated 200,000 convenience stores collectively generate over $10 billion in annual sales.
