Distinguished public health specialist Dr. Tosan Mogbeyiteren’s Black Swan Tech Ltd, built the WeMUNIZE software platform to help solve the challenge of Nigeria’s low level of childhood immunization. With only 31% of Nigerian children fully vaccinated, more than 2,000 children die daily of vaccine-preventable diseases because uptake remains low. Using AI to automate scheduling and record-keeping and replacing conventional paper-based immunization cards with an RFID-enabled immunization photo album for home-based record-keeping, WeMUNIZE has amplified community engagement and increased immunization uptake. When introduced in Northwestern Nigeria, the WeMUNIZE program achieved a remarkable 2% dropout rate, compared with the baseline dropout rate of 59.8%.
