The premature birth of twins and the subsequent year away from her work as a livestock veterinarian was a life-changing experience – not just for Dr. Emma Naluyima Mugerwa but also for Ugandan youth. During this year, she asked her father for land and used the acre she was given to prove that farming can be both sustainable and profitable. MST Junior School in Kampala is part of her innovative approach to regenerative agriculture. Emma believes that the future of farming lies in providing theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience to students. Students are able to earn money through the produce they sell.
