We are pleased to announce our Hero Spotlight of the Month: 2024 ABH Top 10 Hero, Dr. Rasha Rady, the co-founder and COO of Chefaa, a healthtech company that has become a cornerstone of e-pharmacy services in Egypt and beyond. Chefaa was born out of a personal story: when a close friend struggled to access thyroid cancer medication, Dr. Rady and her co-founder Doaa Aref set out to build a platform that would ensure patients never have to face such uncertainty again.
Since its founding, Chefaa has grown steadily into a trusted partner for patients, pharmacies, and healthcare providers. By 2023, the platform had connected more than 1,000 pharmacies across Egypt, while also introducing compliance features such as medication reminders and digital prescription uploads. These tools proved critical during periods of nationwide shortages. In 2024, when supplies of insulin and other essential drugs were disrupted, Chefaa became a lifeline for patients, ensuring delivery of medication directly to their homes at a time of acute need.
The company’s scale-up in 2025 reflects its ambition to reach patients across the Middle East and North Africa. Today, Chefaa serves over 4.5 million monthly users, and its network includes more than 1,600 pharmacies. The platform has expanded into Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and the UAE, broadening its impact and setting the stage for regional healthtech integration. Chefaa’s ability to combine patient-centered design with AI-driven tools has positioned it as one of the most significant players in the digital health space in Africa and the Middle East.
Recognition has followed this growth. In early 2025, Chefaa was selected for a regional accelerator to support compliance innovation, a reflection of the company’s continued focus on improving patient outcomes. Later in the year, the platform was profiled by TechCabal for its resilience and its role in addressing Egypt’s health security. These milestones affirm what the ABH community has always seen in Dr. Rady: a leader who combines medical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and a relentless drive to deliver solutions that matter.
